Carpet Court 2x4x2 Day one
24 teams entered the tournament, not quite two full greens, each green was split into 3 sections of four teams.
With some rain towards the end of the first game most got wet but the spirits weren't dampened. The gusty wind played havoc with the bowls and made for some interesting heads and a few bus parks. But it was a good day and eventually the sun came out. Thanks to Paul and Carpet Court!
Section winners; Tom & Julie, Scruff & Lynlea, Betty & Bill A, Alan & Viv, Grant & Kevin McK, Max & Joy. well done to all section winners. The next day is the Sun 8th March.

The final was finally contested. Grant, Des & John P played Keith W, Dave & Cliff. A small crowd watched the final and it was Grant, Des & John P who were Victors on the day. Well done guys.

The final 3 rounds of the ladies singles were played. The final was between Feona and Sue M. With a good crowd watching the game was played with the usual wind and fortunately the rain from earlier in the day held off. In the end it was Feona who managed to edge ahead and win the game. well done Feona.

There was a good turn out of men to play against Palmerston North in this challenge. Palerston North sent their senior players and our boys responded well to the challenge and came out on top. well done guys!

The Carpet Court 2 x 4 x 2
starts on the 22nd . There are only 23 teams entered for this tournament. We would really like to have the fully complement of 32 if we can. Those of you who are having difficulty in finding a partner should put your name on the board as available or give me a call. We may be able to match you up with someone in a similar situation. This is a good tournament so I urge you to support it otherwise our sponsor, Carpet Court, may well take their sponsorship money elsewhere!

Sat 21 Club Champ catch up day
The knockout section of the Senior Ladies Singles and the final of the Senior Men’s Triples. 9am start. If you want to see some really good bowls being played then come down to the Club and support the players.

March 7 - annual Hospice Tournament
There are a disappointing number of entries so far. So get your teams in and tell all your mates about it, especially those in other bowling clubs. This is a great tournament for a great cause. Spread the word!
