Notices - 21 June 2009

AGM - Sunday June 28 at 10:00am
Following the reports from your Executive, voting will take place for positions on the executive committee. All positions are open and nomination forms are on the notice board in the clubhouse. It appears likely that there are current executive members who are going to stand down from their positions after many years of dedicated commitment to the club.

It is vital that we have club members willing to join the executive committee, and I ask you to please give serious consideration to joining the executive, as the future of the club depends very much on you, the members. Think about what you contribute to the club – do you actively help with any of the many jobs that need to be done to ensure that the club continues to function as successfully as it does? We have one of the most successful clubs in the country and we are very proud of this status. For this to continue the club needs your support and commitment. Please contact myself or any member of the executive if you wish to discuss the executive committee responsibilities and work load.

Cap Presentations
Recently Bowls NZ began a process of recognising all bowlers who have represented New Zealand by presenting them with a numbered Cap. These caps are in chronological order of representation. Following the AGM at 12:00 noon, a representative of Bowls NZ will make presentations of Caps to four current or past Northern Club members (or family representatives) who played for New Zealand. These members are Phil Skoglund, Lyn McLean, Vic Sellars and Joyce Osborne.

All club members are invited to attend this presentation and to lend support to the members and their families who will receive this honour. A light lunch will be served following the presentations.
